Flood Adds, Takes Away Jobs

From the Tennessean, May 16: "To what extent flood-related cleanup and construction activity provides a mini-stimulus also will depend on how quickly recovery money flows from government agencies and insurance companies, said economist David Penn, director of the Business and Economic Research Center at Middle Tennessee State University. Penn doubts the volume of jobs created in the next few months will lower the state's unemployment rate. 'In net terms, I'd be surprised if it does,' he said."
