Chamber Targets Advanced Manufacturing in Economic Plan

From Nashville Business Journal: "It makes sense that local economic development officials would want to target advanced manufacturing along with health care and corporate operations, said Murat Arik, associate director of Middle Tennessee State University’s Business and Economic Research Center, because the field is marked by high productivity rates and wages. Arik estimates that 515 of the region's manufacturing companies can be classified as advanced. They employ nearly 35,000 people and pay $2 billion in wages and salaries."
